LJ has a way of making me fully immersed and this was no different. A story of growth, change, and finding forgiveness while also letting go.

Christian Miller is a hot shot attorney who wants to be made a partner in the law firm he works at. His bosses are stuffy and insist on him winning a big case beforehand. When a case falls in his lap that brings memories from his past surfacing he goes all out for revenge.
Arya Roth is the daughter of a Millionaire banker and has lived her whole life in luxury. Growing up Arya only had one true love and it was the son of her housekeeper. Nicholai meant the world to her but when her father found them kissing he beat Nicholai to within an inch of his life and made sure he never came into contact with his daughter again.
Conrad Roth is a multi Millionaire who thinks women are just there to be used and abused and when he is hit with a lawsuit for abusing women he is livid and wants it to go away by throwing money at the problem, unfortunately for him Christian Miller is the prosecution attorney and won't back down.
Unknown to the Roth's is that Christian is hellbent on revenge and wants to see Conrad lose everything, just as he did when he was 15 years old and the son of an immigrant.

Great storyline and fantastic characters and I hope Riggs and Arsène get thier books too.

I give this book 7.5 out of 10. I enjoyed it immensely and I think the ending was properly done.

This was my first audiobook!

The spice between Arya and Christian were well done and did not feel forced. The plot was incredibly modern but still very Count of Monte Cristo-y with a dash of Great Expectations which I appreciated.

I laughed and enjoyed the cast of characters. I really loved Arya’s mom’s storyline!

I'm not really one for second chances. While I did enjoy this story, it just re-enforced my dislike of secret keeping as an arc/trope.

I found the hero worthy and the heroine pretty decent. Not as strong as I prefer, and yeah a bit of a pushover which I dislike, but she's not the worst and she did evolve, which is a HUGE deal for me.

I absolutely loved Arya and Christian! I really enjoyed seeing him try to give her hints at who he is without trying to give anything away. The rivalry between the two was perfect. I really enjoyed the audiobook! The narrators did a wonderful job!

Arya and Nicky were young when they started hanging out. She loved in the penthouse that his mom cleaned up after. Despite their upbringings, a connection formed. An incident happened that drove them apart. Lies, cover ups, and years later Christian is a big shot lawyer who has the opportunity to take down Arya’s father. He does this while harboring a secret.

I really loved the plot of this. It was so intriguing and had you thinking “when is she going to figure this out??” I freaking loved how Christian was with Arya. He was so sweet, while also being careful. The thing that didn’t sit right with me was the ending. I feel like it could’ve wrapped up better.
