I will say that Cal could be a bit too macho for my taste. I enjoyed Jane, though, and I loved Lynn.

I found this book on Amazon for a pretty great bargain, and it sounded interesting enough, so I made the purchase! Turns out that it was better than I expected! The plot was intriguing - an extremely Jane, an intelligent woman wants a baby, and wants to find the perfect man (without the smarts) and trick him into having sex with her, unprotected - so she gets what she wants, and he gets what he wants. She wants a baby who won't have to deal with the ridicule that she had when she was younger, for being too smart. She figures if she sleeps with a man who wants sex, she can sneak away and he won't ever know she's pregnant, and if he does happen to find out, she believes he won't want anything to do with it. I was honestly disgusted that Jane could force someone to have sex with her, just so she could have his baby. Her plan was pathetic and it made me want to close the book and forget what I had read. Cal, her man of choice, and Jane fight almost every day, of course more so after he finds out what she has done to him.

However, I'm glad I kept reading because I was able to see Jane grow, along with Cal, and see their love blossom, just like Jane's belly. While their relationship is not even close to being normal, the weirdest part being Jane's resistance to letting him see her naked - whether he was used to seeing older women's bodies or not, it's quite endearing during some chapters. I liked the ending, when Jane finally learns what haing a real family is like, after falling in love deeper than I could have imagined.

This book was outstanding! I honestly had not real interest to read it because it introduced completely new characters that are not directly related to the Phoebe/Dan story, but I was curious. Best decision I ever made. It was hilarious! The characters had such an amazing chemistry. Jane really won over my heart because she was loyal, sweet but did not bend to her lover's needs, she was strong enough to take him down at any game. Cal was an interesting hero because he didn't really have the hero qualities, but he was the right man for Jane to fall in love with. Once he opened up, he was a total sweetheart. I highly, highly recommend this book.

I love the Chocago Stars series. Second time round reading them. Maybe even my third time reading the full series.
Only thing I thought was unconvincing is this one: she's a professor, top-scientist... And still she believes in god. Just doesn't make any sense.

It's been a little while since I have read this book, I had found it in a box in my shed and wasn't sure what to expect. But from what I can remember is that it was a nice read. The actions of the two people who are too stubborn for their own good, made me chuckle a number of times, and made me want to read more to see what would happen next.
