This story is really good. Yeah, it's about hot werewolves, but this is more than a love story with lack of t-shirts, it's about a war between humans and werewolves, and Kayla is right in the middle of it. This is the kind of story that makes you feel frustrated because you know things that Kayla doesn't and you just can't wait to see her reaction. Btw, the other two books are really good too ;)
Although I did see a lot of clichés and kinda sexist in some parts, like the women have to have a man by the time of the transformation, so they won’t feel pain. But men have to be totally alone and feel it. Because, obviously, women are weak and they HAVE to have a man to help them *I’m obviously being sarcastic*

Moonlight follows Kayla, a girl working as a Sherpa (guide) in a dense national forest for the summer. She had visited the forest the summer before because her therapist said she needed to find closure. Basically, when she was little her parents were killed in the forest and she has never gotten over it (rightly so). Yet she is drawn to the forest and the handsome Sherpa leader Lucas. All is not as it seems in this book filled with a group of crazy scientists, forest adventures, and werewolves (you heard me right). Kayla Madison is excited about spending the summer as a sherpa in the dense national forest.

That sums up my feelings for this book pretty well. I mean I went into it expecting the teen angst werewolf story (I've been needing all the books I read when I was a teen recently). However, maybe because I have been reading a lot of stories like this recently, but his one was just okay. The story just seemed a bit too fast paced for me. The relationship went from 0 to 100 immediately. I felt like maybe I was missing 100 pages or something. IDK, not my favorite, but it wasn't bad or anything. It just lacked the depth I wanted. Will I read it again in 10 years when I want to relive my werewolf fangirl days once again? Yeah, probably.

Perhaps not the most unique world I've ever read about, but there is something compelling about Rachel Hawthorne's werewolves that I instantly liked. The old legends of werewolves springing from the full moon waasn't completely discarded and I trly enjoyed that. And then there was the writing which I very much enjoyed - probably because it was so close to my own, but who cares? I liked it immensely. Another good things about this book was that I didn't just forget it as soon as I put it down. Sure, it was a little predictable, but it also left some questions that I'd like answered. And because of that I'll definitely read the next books in this series.

This was the best werewolf ( or dark guardian as I should say...) that I read read in my entire life ( apart from the nightshade trilogy which they are as equal as each other) I just fell in love with this. Can't wait to read the second one.

as a big fan of rachel hawthrone i was surprised she'd taken this route. it turned out to be pretty good. i wouldnt compare it to twilight though two different paths i would say. but this one is worth a try if your into the supernatural. it could have been a bit better but there were some really awesome scenes that make up for it. I dont think i'll continue with this series. I think me not truly enjoying this book was that I am a now to "old" to identify with Hawthornes's characters and probably not her target audience anymore. But still is a good for what is worth.
