Fated mates is one of my favorite tropes, add it to Paranormal Chick Lit and you have a winning combination. I think the chick lit gives you more of a BFF feel. Anna and Lucy are in this thing called life together even when Anna becomes “undead”. Then we get Vlad who is like five hundred years older than Anna, but they can’t fight the attraction they feel even when he is trying to be stoic and teach her to be a vampire. Throw in a big baddie that is truly evil and seemingly unstoppable and we get the trifecta angsty romance, intrigue, and just enough action. Can’t wait for more.

My Opinion: The book is told by Anna, and goes through the motions of life among vampires, living as a vampire, and detective work – find who killed her, take actions about it, and so on. It’s simple, straight-forward, evenly paced, and peppered with sassy jokes.

This was a fun and easy paranormal rom-com. Anna was someone I likely wouldn’t get on with, but I did enjoy learning about this paranormal world and vampires through her reckless act-first-worry-later personality.
It also gave me a little bit of glee that someone who was so obsessed with fame and vlogging is now a creature with no reflection 😂 Hopefully it will do wonders for her character growth…. Or maybe I am just mean 🤷♀️😂

Definitely over the top, but also pretty fun.
Cute and quirky vampire story. Vlad is a cinnamon roll with some spice when needed. Anna may be a little shallow about some things but her character grows. Anna and Lucy have an adorable and funny friendship. I loved their devotion to each other. All the characters were interesting and added something to the story.

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would I picked it up because I saw it on booktok and thought that looked fun. It was fun and interesting Anna and best friend Lucy out investigating a blood orgy and boom all hell hits the fan.
Anna is attacked and Vlad (not that Vlad) saves her and now she has to get used to what being a vampire means. Then the one who attacks her is stocking her to finish the job.
It’s a lot but fun and just a great listen and I loved the narration it was perfect not to serious it was just right.
