More Nanny Ogg than the previous entry made me very happy.
Reread 2019: I love that Pratchett can write such distinctive characters. Each one is so different to the next. He also manages to get them to interact in such a convincing manner that you feel like you’re there. Also rare in my experience is a male author writing many female characters that don’t once mention heaving breasts (although Nanny Ogg going dancing I won’t forget in a hurry!).
A story about stories. A combination of many fairy tales, folk lore and witches. Lovely tale on how women can empower themselves through different methods. Great twists on well known stories with normal endings.
Re-read in 2014 as my friend is playing Greebo this month in a play. His audition involved him being prepared to be naked on stage. He got down to his boxers and got the part!

Another very funny books in the witches series. So many brilliantly interwoven stories and borrowed ideas and themes.
I had to laugh out loud a few times and will definitely continue my journey into the Discworld universe!

I believe this is the third time I've read this book as part of my quest to read them all in order, and it is the one I've read the most in all of the Discworld series. It was probably my first Discworld book and I still love it.
This was very enjoyable to listen to as an Audiobook, though I think it would have worked better with a female narrator, as almost all the major characters are women. I enjoyed Pratchett's meta commentary on stories and how stories work. The three witches, Nanny Ogg, Granny Weatherwax and Magrat, are all very charming and likeable. The plot structure of this is very loose, but the characters keep it entertaining.
The layers and the funny. So much so often. So very fond of it.
