The Good:
"Viking Vampire" has a fun, high-concept premise that blends Norse mythology with vampire lore, offering plenty of potential for action and dark fantasy. The protagonist’s struggle between their Viking heritage and vampiric nature adds an interesting internal conflict. Some battle scenes are well-written, and the gothic-meets-Norse aesthetic creates a unique atmosphere.
The Not-So-Good:
While the idea is creative, the execution feels uneven. The pacing drags in places, especially during exposition-heavy sections, and the worldbuilding sometimes lacks depth. The protagonist’s backstory is compelling, but their present-day choices can feel inconsistent. Supporting characters often fall into familiar tropes without enough development to make them memorable.
Final Thoughts:
"Viking Vampire" is an entertaining read with a cool mashup of genres, but it doesn’t fully capitalize on its potential. If you’re looking for a quick, action-packed dark fantasy with a unique twist, it’s worth a try—just don’t expect groundbreaking depth. A solid 3

This book, whilst I finished it (hence a 2 star rating vs a 1 star rating) was… a bit much. We follow Bailey, a human in a world that also contains ‘Others’. Others involve the typical supernatural creatures like Erick, a vampire, among werewolves, djinn and sirens.
My Viking Vampire contained very little plot, and lots of sex scenes that original between our MC (a girl who has been physically and emotionally tortured and should/does have a strong fear and hatred of men, and a vampire who says he wants to take things slow only to rip her shirt off. Whilst it honestly was a silly goofy time, I give 2 stars for this ebook, and will not read anything else in the series.

it was all going so well, then
the BDSM element had to be introduced! don't get me wrong I love a good BDSM story but it pops up in far too many paranormal stories.
So 3 stars.

The other day, I saw the book My Dragon Masters come up randomly on my facebook feed. I'd not heard of this author, so I checked her out on Goodreads & B&N. My Dragon Masters looked to be a good hot read, but I wanted to start at the beginning and it was a bonus since My Viking Vampire was a free read on B&N. So thank you! I'll be purchasing the rest of the series!
This for me, was one of those books that kept me reading until 3am only to set my alarm to wake up and read some more! Been along time since I've torn through a book in 24 hours.

I'm not a fan of angst for angst's sake, but everything in this story was just too easy! I know she was 'special' but come on! Recovering from torture and abuse in one 'session?' Wow, those orgasms must be good!
An okay read but I would have liked more character- and world-building, plus more of a connection between the two MCs that wasn't dependent just on sex.

I LOVED this book. The concept was extremely intriguing and the characters were wonderful. The way the author wrote this kept you interested and not wanting to put the book down. I can’t wait to pick up the next in the series to see where things lead!
Also the BDSM aspects were super refreshing compared the the drivel most people put out these days!

The beginning of the story dragged for me, but once they reached Sanctuary the story picked up and I enjoyed it.
Spoiler
I did find it odd that a newbie vampire, a day old newbie vampire, was able to take down a Djinn when century old vampires were not.
