I read this after having seen the movies, and it’s like a whole different story. The plot is so well written and the characters are all so complex. While the level of reading is a bit low for my taste, I still thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to start the next one.

I’m going to update this later. This is the first book I’ve ever fully reread and the most influential from my teenage years. It has not only withstood the test of time, but is more relevant and poignant than ever. It would detract from its power to compare it to CF or Mckjay because this is rebellious on all on its own. If it had been stand alone—not a trilogy- its subtle notes of dissent would be revolutionary still.

Honestly, so speechless right now. I cannot remember the last time I was so enraptured by a book before, until now. My emotions went up and down to the beat of the story, and I felt everything like how Katniss felt as everything happened to her. I genuinely regretted not reading this sooner because it's just so good.
