Not my favorite Coelho book that I've read, but still beautiful writing and a beautiful setting.
Le quise dar una oportunidad a Coelho pero falló miserablemente.

"Do you think that last night's destruction, suffering, and deaths have a meaning? Do you think it's necessary to destroy thousands of lives to teach someone something?"
It's alright. This biblical narrative can be a little tough to take at times, with the divine ineffability as such a prominent theme. However, as I got into the latter half, I found Coelho made a fair effort to humanize the motives and methods of the story, presenting a different view of the prophet's motivations; this new view is really what makes the book something worthwhile.
I was hesitant at first with the book. I was required to read this book for a book report at school and I initially picked this to write about among the book selections because the author was Paul Coelho.
I was at first skeptic with the first few chapters and was a bit bored with all the religious references but soon enough I couldn't put down the book and was pretty much hooked on it. I enjoyed Elijah's character and indecisions as he understands more about himself and his faith throughout the course of the book. I enjoyed most of the characters even if they barely had anything noteworthy about them.
To conclude this short and random review, I quite enjoyed the book. The religious references aren't exactly my cup of tea but it was a nice and easy ride for a story for my book report.
