One of my all-time favorite books. We have an Elijah insideofus. There is this phase in our lives that we are called to do however, human as we are, we have moments of running away.

This is a story of bravery and fighting for your calling in spite of all the challenges. Like the Alchemist, this book is a reimagination of the story of Elijah the prophet.

so this coelho’s book is very connected to christianity but not in a way that put me off. i admit the story was confusing at some points but overall good and it kept my attention.i got so into the relationship growing between elia and the widow, i even cried many times for no reason, pretty sure not what the author intended. it brings to light some nice opinions and quotes that make you think.

60/100.

Awesome message! I need to grab another Coelho book soon!

Honestly, this was not one of my preferred books of Coelho's. Somehow The Fifth Mountain, in its retelling of the prophet Elijah's stories, seemed to rely on platitudes without much actually happening.

While the writing itself was easy to read and sounded nice, this one felt just a bit hollow to me.

I LOVED this book. I thought it was a little slow at first but once i got into it I was in LOVE. I freakin' loved it. I could read it another gazillion times.

Beautifully written, but not really my sort of thing

Fifth Mountain is written more in a parable form and is in fact about a piece of the bible. It's still an interesting tale enough to read and focuses on having faith in times of great misfortune.
