I didn’t relate as much as I had hoped to with the main characters, but I enjoyed reading about their budding friendship/first love and them discovering art in their own way. I liked the phrase but it didn’t affect me in a way I think it was meant to. I know there was small town “chaos” over it but I still didn’t relate to their fear of telling anyone they did it, especially 21 years after the fact. I really enjoyed the story of how the art journalist/critic found out it was Frankie! Once Frankie and Zeke were reunited and their whole interaction and conversation felt underwhelming and a bit confusing and left me wanting more. I wish there had been an epilogue for after the article was published and the public reaction. I would’ve liked to know if her and Zeke/Ben ever talked again years after the publication to know how it affected them. I really loved Nothing to See Here and will read more from this author but this book just left me a feeling underwhelmed and yet also still wanting more closure but maybe that’s what He was going for with Frankie’s character as well?
