First book read by Jeff Strand and I definitely was not let down! This story was a roller coaster of events! Started off super creepy then totally unfolded into a dark , twisted, funny, action packed adventure. Absolutely loved the way the story was written, everything flowed so easily and perfectly. Lots of twists I never would have guessed, was definitely hard to put down cause I constantly wanted to know more. Can’t wait to dive into another story by this author!

What did I just read?

I cannot believe that I actually got to the very end of the book. I feel like it was a waste of time. While there were some parts that were entertaining, most of the book just felt like just weird, extremely unrealistic mess... I will, in fact, say that the writing was not bad. It may have actually been the only redeeming quality of book.

“I’m a liar, but this is the truth”

I just want to start by saying nothing good EVER happens when a book/show/movie is set in a small town EVER! Or at least there is usually a whole lot of very specific, twisted drama that tends to not happen anywhere else.

I loved the writing it was very easy to follow and flowed well, the format where it’s like the MC: Jason is telling you the story was different and fun to read. I could not put this book down! It made me laugh out loud at several points. The MC Jason is funny and likable, and the banter between him and Rachel was sweet, funny and enjoyable to read. The storyline has almost a reverse beauty and the beast premise with some murder sprinkled in. I liked that the end wasn’t quite a nice neat little bow it made it a more realistic ending. I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future!

“I was becoming a huge Blister fan.”
― Jeff Strand, Blister

If you're looking for classic horror with some humor, great dialogue, and a fast-paced story, Jeff Strand is your man. This guy knows how to grab your attention and tell a gruesome, but readable tale.

I'm hooked. I plan on spending the rest of my summer checking his books off my TBR pile.

..... Before reading this book, I was skeptical.. I can't handle anything gory so I was a little unsure if I should forge ahead. Let me tell you, I'm very glad I did. There were a few gross parts, but it wasn't bad. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was very good. I was very sad when the book was over :(
