Seventeen years ago, one sister goddess betrayed the other which caused their planet to stop rotating. Their daughters go on a quest to undo “The Breaking,” to get the planet to resume rotating. Each daughter, unaware of the other, undergoes their own trials along the way. This climate change fantasy is told from four alternating points of views: goddess Odessa and Lan from the night half; and goddess Haidee and Arjan from the day half. Each chapter alternates between the two parallel quests with each pair undergoing different trials and making new discoveries about the truth about what happened seventeen years ago. Like with many stories with converging storylines, readers might prefer some storyline and/or point of view over others. Readers learn more details behind “The Breaking” as the characters learn them but since the mothers’ point of view isn’t represented they don’t learn everything. This world and its landscapes are fascinating, yet despite a fantastic premise there’s not much different about this book from the other countless YA fantasy quests. Still fans of the Incarceron and the Everless series would likely enjoy this book.

Thank you Edelweiss+ for providing an ARC for this book.

The premise of this was very interesting and I enjoyed the dynamics of the mother-daughter relationship and secret-keeping. The book is told from 4 perspectives, which initially made it hard to feel particularly connected to any one character. The pacing was done well, but I feel like some parts of a character's development felt rushed. The ending did a good job setting up the sequel: two goddesses have a lot of explaining to do.

A demoness is what they call a Goddess that men cannot control

This book was amazing, I loved every minute of it. I loved the romances so much, too. I'm for sure going to read both the sequel and more books by [a:Rin Chupeco|7055613|Rin Chupeco|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1552918654p2/7055613.jpg] as fast as possible!!!

I'm not sure why everyone gave this book such negative reviews. I found it interesting. Was it anywhere near as good as the Bone Witch trilogy by this author, not in a million years. But it was a thoroughly enjoyable book. It was pretty predictable, but still interesting. I'll be moving on to the next book.

Audiobook was hard to follow for some reason, even though it was well made.
But I really liked Rin Chupeco's writing again, can't wait to continue to her next book in this series

The Never Tilting World is a gripping fantasy novel about duality in all its forms. After the world literally breaks in two, part of it is encased in eternal darkness, situated in a wintry seascape full of monsters and unpredictable storms while the other part is plagued by a never retreating sun in a desert landscape also full of monsters, cannibals, and devastating sandstorms. Twin sisters are being trained to rule these worlds, each believing the other is dead, but both believing they can bring the world back to the way it was. They set out in separate quests with their own crews and try their hand at defying their fate... or perhaps, cementing it.

Rin Chupeco weaves a spectacular tale of light and darkness and the things we choose to embrace. The story plays out in grand scale across horrific and beautiful landscapes of both nature and the soul itself complete with monsters that take many shapes. It asks the question what would you give up if you could have the power to remake the world? How do you navigate such grand destinies and stay your course as yourself in the face of your sacrifices? Told in alternating viewpoints from each of the twin goddesses determined to right the wrongs and the two people who choose to fight with and love them, The Never Tilting World is an incredible journey from start to finish that will leave you breathless with anticipation and fear for the future. Readers will be eagerly anticipating the next installment of this truly memorable quest full of prophecy, love, heartbreak, and a knock down drag out fight for everything you hold dear.
