Abigail is new to town after running from her past, but she has always had a dark side...a fantasy, to find a monster who will catch her in the dark. Phoenix is a monster that has been in hiding for too long and needs to be unleashed.

I loved this book, their pain of their past is so raw but they put their pieces together in the aftermath of their tragedies. This book is dirty, and their fantasies are dark, be warned.

Wow! Jade West outdoes herself yet again.

This book was dark but handled some subject matter perfectly. I definitely want expecting to like this as much as I did. In the beginning it seemed like there was going to be very little plot, as the book progressed you find out the plot is dark and deep. It has the potential to have you all in your feelings.

I highly recommend this book just please PLEASE check trigger warnings......

I liked Abigail and Leo together! The dark fantasy for both of them was really well done, and these two broken individuals coming together and falling in love was great. But all the stuff with Jake, the hero's brother, was weird. Even the hero's sister was behaving strangely especially when we understand that family's backstory fully. Jake's behavior would have scarred me for life, but Abigail was able to brush it off no problem. I didn't think the emotions hit exactly right for me. Still, a fun read though definitely check TWs!

Great character evolution. This was a fantastic book!

I did enjoy the  read, it was really not in all the areas that count. The only issue I had was the British accent made it sound wishy washy.

Will read / listen to another story from this author.

what an interesting read

I liked this book and the premise of it very unique and unusual. I feel like it was well done well timed and I adored Leo I wasn’t really sure of the name changes or what that was all about. I was a little confused by that, but that was like the only thing I was really confused by. The formatting of this book was really odd and it kind of kept throwing me off. It was like sentence. Space sentence space sentence space and I didn’t really understand what was happening with the formatting, but that could just be her poetic style of writing not sure, but it was good enough. I’ll read another book by author. Worth it!
