This book was a bit off in a couple ways for me. The pacing was a bit off. It felt like it was too slow yet too fast at the same time. The relationship between the two main characters felt rushed by the end of the book. The author did not make their love super convincing. It also took waaaaay too long to to reveal their “secrets”. The beginning of the book felt like a gloomy drag. I did enjoy it to some extent and I loved the epilogue. It was an okay book overall but definitely not a favorite.

THIS IS A TABOO READ WHERE BOTH OUR MAIN CHARACTERS ARE EMOTIONALLY AND EVEN PHYSICALLY (TO SOME EXTENT ) SCARRED AND FEEL DEAD AND REPRESSED. A SUDDEN AND RISQUE MEETING BETWEEN THESE TWO TURNS INTO A FREEING EXPERIENCE FOR BOTH OF THEM, BREAKING THEM OUT OF THE SHELL.
IT WAS WRITTEN BEAUTIFULLY AND I DIDN'T CRINGE ANY PART WHILE READING, THE SENSITIVE TOPIC NICELY WRITTEN AND SINCE THE BOOK IS IN DUAL POV, WE GET TO SEE BOTH THEIR THOUGHTS REGARDING THEIR KINK, THE SHAME, THE FREEDOM THEY FEEL WITH EACH OTHER.
THIS BOOK ISN'T JUST A TABOO READ, THERE IS A FAMILY AND EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE AND DRAMA WHICH ONLY ADDED TO THE LAYERS OF THE STORY.

I don’t think I’ve had to set aside a book to fan my face from the intensity of what I’m reading in well… ever!
I picked this book up after reading the blurb and realizing it was focus on primal play, and it absolutely did not disappoint! The kink aspects of this book called to me in the best ways and they held such an emotional intensity that it left me breathless!
The characters are so well written, with all of the jagged edges and past traumas! The entire book was just phenomenal.

Jade West reeeaalllly knows how to do dirty, taboo and kinky. Wow. I love her writing, it’s so smut but her characters always have a story, a life behind them. Ironically, our main characters start off with feeling lifeless. I loved our heroine, I didn’t think I would, but she was strong in her vulnerability. Our hero, or monster I should say, daaammmnnnnn someone give me a Leo any day! So glad I read this, Jade West is slowly becoming one of my favourite authors in this genre!! Definitely a recommendation if you’re not afraid of taboo and dirty. Like reallly dirty ;)
