It was way more beautiful then I was expecting. Some of the lines about loss were really well written. I like that we’re not 100% sure if we can trust what our narrator believes. The twists were good and pretty unexpected. It was a fairly easy read, not too long or challenging. If you are a Shari Lapena, I think you would really like this book.

My only problems with the book are 1) it felt like every other chapter Ellie says she’s going to get her life in order, then finds a new revolution. It got a tad annoying but not enough for me to want to stop. 2) I’m confused on the ending and how Melina was connected to it.

Overall it was a good and easy read. I’ll definitely be reading more by the author.

Oh this book made me cry, the love she had for Greg and her belief in his love and fidelity was heart wrenching.

Good start and good finish it’s just the story in the middle that could tightened up

This was a really good book! Nicci French really captured what it's like when your husband dies suddenly. My husband died suddenly 3 years ago and I felt like Ellie did when she was trying to come to grips with it. The story of Ellie trying to find out what really happened, held my interest the whole time. Really recommend this book.

Ellie sees her world changing around her when her husband is killed in a car crash. However, to her surprise, the body of a woman was also found along with his. Ellie finds herself at a loss and decides to investigate the life of this mysterious woman. As she starts her investigation, she uncovers some secrets that were better left buried.

Unraveling a plot while convinced your husband was not unfaithful as evidence points to the contrary

Excellent book, as always from Nicci French. They are great.
