Wonderful, as always. I think I identify most with Anne out of all the Austen heroines because Anne feels very deeply but is always careful to be proper and to seek advice despite her gut reaction. She is what I aspire to become one day.
I feel like this novel gets a bad rep nowadays because Anne is so staid and solid compared to heroines like Lizzie Bennet and Jo March. Anne's calm and clear-headed placidity is actually something much more desirable to me in a culture of flashes and changes every few seconds. Anne is dependable, and while most girls don't spend their growing up years wishing to be dependable, I always hoped that one day, someone would look at me and say "Oh, yes, you can trust her, she's very dependable and responsible."
ETA 5/7/18: That Captain Wentworth, though. MY HEART. MY HEART I CAN'T. Ugh, that letter he gives her at the end, and their conversation as they walk home--I squealed. It's just so good!

I think that now I’m in my 30s, this tale of second chances and love blossoming in maturity really hits home for me. It’s pretty, it’s poignant, and it’s occasionally laugh-out-loud funny, so I can’t recommend it enough.
One star deducted, however, for there being three separate Charles, which is too many Charleses.
