The art was gorgeous, and i love how in this version we get to know what happened to Belle's mother. It was so sweet and cute, the color amazing, and the story line perfect. I really enjoyed it. It's a quick read and sweet. I definitely recommend it.
This manga follows the 2017 Beauty and the Beast movie from Belle's perspective. We see her as she learns to see the Beast's true self despite his exterior. #DisneyMangaBeautyandtheBeastBellesTaleFullColorEdition #NetGalley

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Belle was my favorite prince and still is. I love the story of B&B, I like to read the retellings of it too and when I saw this manga version I could not not read it. Here we have Belle's POV and there is a second book with the Beast's POV and I like this.
Okey, so the main point of this version is to see if B&B could be made as a MANGA. The illustrations were colorful, cute but it really looked more like a Webtoon or a graphic novel than a manga and drawings with big eyes or throwing a big black kanji here and there don't make it a real Japanese manga. Let's only see it as a graphic novel. Something was really missing but I still enjoyed it.

Nothing new, though I probably shouldn't have expected that

Thank you NetGalley & TOKYOPOP for a copy of this ARC graphic novel! The famous Beauty and The Beast story retold in manga format and in Belles POV. Here we learn about Belle's life in her small town and her encounters with the Beast and beyond. This is certainly a Disney movie fairytale retelling.
This story was very similar to the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast minus the singing, which is mostly also told from Belle's POV in a way - but it was refreshing to be able to see her thoughts as the story went on. In that sense, we understand her story arc and the romantic arc a bit more and how she came to open up. It's really interesting what she thought at first and how they slowly found out things they had in common - also how much the servants in the castle helped her.
Despite the plot being the same as before, so predictable in a sense, I really enjoyed learning more about Belles' character.
The pacing of this manga with the Beauty and the Beast story felt a little rushed at points. There were also scenes that reminded me of the Disney musical, but just images, without music - which was an interesting thing to include as the images don't give context if you haven't seen the Disney film. However we were provided with new information about Belle's past that wasn't always included in other versions of this story. I would have personally preferred that the pacing were just a touch slower and something in place of the musical scenes since this is a manga - but it does make this a fun and quick read!
The writing and dialogue were well done and easy to understand. Dialogue on the shorter side was all that was needed to illustrate the usage of words and the imagery helped in conveying tone. I appreciated the inner thoughts from Belle's POV though as further insight. I also really enjoyed this type of manga art style, It felt familiar but modern enough, the perfect blend between the imagery we know so well for this story already and the manga type of imagery we love as well!
Overall a very enjoyable read and one that I would recommend if you're a fan of this story and enjoy reading graphic novels and mangas. This also makes a great gift for Disney x manga lovers!

Remember, I am completely biased toward the Beauty and the Beast’s tale. It’s my favorite fairy-tale retelling, so I am predisposed to liking this book. I loved it. I love the color, the drawing style, the story (duh). It was a delightful read! I think it was beautifully done!
