Manga re-telling of Disney's Beauty and the Beast story from Belle's point of view. I enjoyed visiting this story again, especially because we get to see what happened from Belle's POV only.

I got a copy of this from Netgalley in exchange for a review.

This was such a wonderful piece of art! It was my first experience of Manga, and it took some getting used to. Basically a retelling of the film, just with more of Belle's actual thoughts within the scenes rather than just the script. It was a great way to rewatch the film without actually watching it, definitely brought back some of the happy feels!

Loved this - 4 stars!

FYI: volume 1 and volume 2 are getting the same review.

This is a two volume set. Volume 1 tells the story from Belle’s point of view, and volume two we see the Beast’s side. Tokyopop has taken the new movie and try to put it in manga form. You know what, stop this. In trying to reinvent Tokyopop and bring it back to the powerhouse it once was, stop ruining beloved Disney stories. They do a fine job of this telling, but it's not great. All the story work was done by the movie people and these books just regurgitate it into a new format. Having the two sides separated is an interesting feature, but only interesting. It does not advance the story any way. Overall, i rate this set predictable and unnecessary.

I really liked this! This is a comic based on the live-action beauty and the beast from belle's point of view. The art is beautiful! A quick and fun read. I received an e-book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Belle's Tale by Mallory Reeves is a graphic novel version of our beloved story, as it was told in the recent live action movie remake. It follows Belle, who sacrifices herself in order to save her father and ends up imprisoned in the Beast's castle. But Belle doesn't know that the castle's inhabitants are under the curse and now they hope that she may be the one to help them break it.

I don't read mangas or graphic novels very often, but when I saw that it's supposed to be based on the Beauty and the Beast remake, I just had to read it! And I have to say that I absolutely enjoyed it. The story will probably be known to those of you who are fans of the original tale or Disney movies, but making it only from Belle's POV puts a little spin on it. Also, the art was amazing. I was impressed with how evocative it was, especially in the parts where the story was told only through images, without words.

I definitely think it's a great addition to the Beauty and the Beast world and would appeal to all fans of the tale "as old as time".

I have kindly received a copy of this book from Diamond Book Distributors and Tokyopop via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

The review also appeared on my blog.

Bascilly just a manga of the movie

I would like to thank netgalley and Diamond Book Distributors for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a beautiful rendition of the film from Belle's pov, I love all the little added details.

3.5 Stars

Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite Disney movie. A lot of reviews I have read says that this manga is a perfect adaptation of the new live action film. While I can't agree or disagree with this because I have yet to watch the live action film I can say that it does follow along with the original film just minus the musical numbers. I torn between liking and not liking the illustrations. I thought some of them were amazing and pretty spot on others were lacking for me. I definitely enjoyed reading Belles POV more than the Beasts.
