This is well written and the plot was easy to follow. I also didn't predict the twist. It is pretty dated and couldn't happen in 2025. Overall, I enjoyed it.

I liked the emails in the beginning, but I became confused with the point-of-view shifts and multiple characters. For example, I couldn't keep Linda and Shauna straight, nor could I remember the cops. I really liked Tyrese, but I don't know about Dr. Beck and his late wife.

I know that this book is a thriller, but it reads more like a fantasy because there is no way anything that happened in this book could actually occur on the planet Earth, even back in 2001. The villains are just too villainy, the desire for twist after twist means that the author puts himself in so many knots that he strangles himself. Also, it is rare to read a book with a narrator you are supposed to root for who is just such an asshole. Let us not forget that in 2001, the US was in a surplus thanks to the Clinton administration, but you just know that this author, with his love of alleged Medicaid fraud, voted for Bush; I blame him for starting us on our current descent as a nation.

A classic twisty turny Harlen Coben. Everything is better with Hester Crimstein. I loved the ending although my one complaint would be that it wrapped up so quickly I’m not sure the entirety of the plot twists sank in.
This book was so good and it truly surprised me when all of the details started coming together!
This book was just doing a bit too much. The first half of the book is quite a drag and I found myself trying to just get through the book. I really didn’t enjoy the switch between David’s first person account and then the 3rd person account of everyone else, it would have been better if it was written in all 3rd person. The final reveal was a bit over the top and cringey

This was a weird plot twist. The story starts off with David’s wife being murdered. Fast forward 8 years, and he starts receiving cryptic emails… containing details only she would know. What transpires is his hunt to discover if the person behind them is his deceased wife.
