Tell No One

Harlan Coben

Beck's wife was murdered 8 years ago, and now he gets a strange email that sets of a chain of events. This was an action-packed thriller. I know quite a few Harlan Coben books have been made into tv series and this was made into a French movie 15 years ago, which I've now seen. The Europeans seem to love bringing his books to the big and small screen!

Easy read, moved fast, not much depth to characters, just on the surface. It kept my attention. A decent murder mystery that once revealed I was blase about it, nothing shocking, just meh.

I found this to be a bit dis jointed but mostly the narrator was a huge issue- he sounded like he was performing a noir novel and was very casual and laid back in his tone even when the story seemed like it should have been intense. I’m sure he’d be great with a mellow book but it was a poor choice for this book. Had a hard time with him mispronouncing words like “forte” being pronounced “fort” instead of “fortay”. The story would likely have been better with a different narrator but I barely finished it.

After the first ten pages you'll already be hooked. Keeps you interested for the whole read. Lots of moving pieces that eventually come together. Wish some of the explanations at the end were a bit more thorough.

One of Harlan Coban's best-ever books! The pace is fast and furious; great plotting; sooo much emotion---a truly thrilling read.
