Oh my
I'm speechless
What a book
I was sceptical going into it, I bought it from a charity shop on a whim, and my god I'm glad I did.
I've never read a thriller that keeps you guessing all the way through and just when you think it's all wrapped up another bombshell is dropped. This took a totally different direction than I expected it to and I am not disappointed
The twists and turns worried me as I've read a few books where the plot is left hanging with gaping holes at the end, but this one didn't, it answered pretty much every question I had (other than a few at the end that it explicity said sorry can't answer that for ya, it's not happened yet)
I won't lie it took me a while to figure out how all the parts slotted together and how they were all connected, quite often these things are handed to you but in this case I was kept guessing and learning all the way through. It fully kept me engaged right to the end...even if I did throw the book a few times out of excitement and frustration - oopsies
Massively recommend, and fully deserving of all 5 stars

I really liked the French film based on this book. Overall, I like the book... I just can't get over how all the characters of color are portrayed. I realize that this is a narrative/narrator choice but MY GOD. EDIT: Upon taking 5 minutes post-read to think about this book... This plot is kind of a hot mess. Too many plot twists that just don't fit together when you take a step back.
The odd one that's really urking me: Gandle and Wu kidnap TJ, a young boy with hemophilia who had to go the the hospital because he ran into a door jam... AND THE KID RETURNS PERFECTLY FINE?!?! HOW, SWAY?!
AND you mean to tell me that David, knowing the truth THE WHOLE TIME, figured it was true that Elizabeth was a victim of KillRoy?!
"Fun" read... Just don't think about it too much.

Holy Moly this was so good! My first Harlan Coben novel and I could not stop listening. The layers of twists and surprises…can’t wait to dig into the next one.
A quick, whirlwind of a read, one of the few books that follows through on its promise of twists on every page, but inevitably the story just wasn't as good as the twists were.

There have been books that I've read twice or three times over and have always enjoyed them as much if not more than the first time around. That is not the case with my second reading of this book. I am not sure if I confused this book with an actual Coben great, and maybe that is why I gave it a full 5 stars when I originally posted the book on GR, but I am going to need to take away a few stars. The author goes through great pains to over explain details that are just not necessary to the plot. He also piles on lame metaphors on top of lame metaphors. The clichés (a word even the protagonist uses at least a half dozen times) and stereotypes were just too over the top. And did the protagonist actually say, "...but my eyes got snagged on a picture of, well, me...Amazing how sinister I looked in the darkened photo, like a Mideast terrorist." He did! Every gimmick used in any substandard movie thriller is used here (like the dark sunglasses wearing thug). In fact, it seems that that's what the author was going for - movie script. With the right director and producer, this could translate into a decent movie, it just makes for a disappointing read.
Listened via Audible. It kept my attention. It was a little drawn out for me, but it kept me interested. The plot was good, had me guessing until the end. The ending was a little surprising. Overall, glad I bought it and listened all the way through.
About a quarter into this book it sucked me in and I couldn't put it down until I finished it....which just happened to be at 4am. The book hangover today is completely worth it though!
By the author of the Myron Bolitar novels, and set in the same "universe", this is a very different book. Significantly darker than the Myron books it is still a suspenseful and quite fast-paced read.
