My Recommendation: Worth a read if you want a (mostly) fast-paced thriller. I would probably recommend checking out a newer book as I felt they were stronger, but if the synopsis of this one grabs you then definitely don’t run away from it.

My Response: Since the last two Harlan Coban novels I read I’ve wanted to read this one, but I’ve just been lazy. This has been sitting on my shelf since April 2016, which isn’t too bad for me. I picked up a copy of this after Cathy at 746 Books mentioned it was her favorite when I read my first two Coben books. I was not disappointed.

These types of books, like many romances and many mysteries, are a dual edged sword for me. When I read them they are wonderful page turners full of action and adventure, but 7-10 days later most, if not all, of the details fade away into oblivion. This isn’t a bad thing, but it’s also not a great thing especially if you’re looking for a bit of disposable entertainment.

I loved this book because it keeps you on the edge of your seat until the final chapter. Each chapter is told from various characters perspectives too, so you really get to understand and invest in the story you’re following. The main plot follows Dr. David Beck. The man who lost his wife 8 years ago. The book unfolds what really happened, why it happened, and if it’s really what it seems.

This was a really good book. The storyline was good and kept you guessing. I particularly loved how multidimensional the characters were. I will definitely be reading more of his books.

Well-written thorough mystery/thriller. I was not a fan of the gory, torture-y aspect of some of it. I kinda saw the last “twist” coming, but I’ve read my fair share of mystery/thrillers.

You read this book for a reason. A beach read thriller that goes a shade overboard with the twists at the end. Like a bad action movie it’s good for what it is

"I kept hearing that "better to have loved and lost" bullshit. Another falsehood. Trust me, it is not better. Don't show me paradise and then burn it down."
Another addictive read/listen by Harlan Coben.

I have been waiting for this book to come available with my library for MONTHS! When it finally was ready to be checked out, I was nervous to start it because I was afraid I had built it up so much in my mind that I would be disappointed.

I WASN’T DISAPPOINTED AT ALL!

“Tell No One” is one of my favorite books of 2024. It is my first Coben novel and makes me want to check out his entire backlog.

I was HOOKED from the start and had a hard time putting it down. The plot is fast paced with secrets being revealed at every turn. This novel had some standout characters that I really loved that brought something extra to the storyline. I don’t want to say who they are because I don’t want to spoil anything.

This is the perfect novel for someone looking to get into the thriller genre or the seasoned reader that needs to get out of a slump.

𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙬𝙞𝙨𝙩 (𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦):
I couldn’t give the twists a full 5-star rating just because I guessed the biggest one. There were a few others I guessed but a couple that I didn’t. Even if I had guessed all of them, I would’ve still enjoyed the ride.

𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙖𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙤𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠:
The thing about “Tell No One” is that there are some chapters told in third person and others told in first person from our MC. I don’t always love that switch up. I can deal with it better when there are different narrators for the first person and third person parts. That wasn’t the case here. The narrator did a fine job, but there was a missed opportunity for a better production. Nothing would be lost if you passed on the audiobook for print.

This was a pretty good mystery, a real "who dunnit". It was action packed and a page turner. It kept my attention the whole time, but it did read a bit cheesy for me. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at some of the dialogue. Imagine an episode of blue bloods or law & order. It was really entertaining and I have nothing against plot, but it was just good not great.
