Fantastic read, a story with many twists, turns, and complexity that are all greatly resolved. A true page turner!

With the perfect amount of twists and POVs, the mystery unfurls with dark secrets lurking around every corner. I loved the way Coben writes, detailed but direct, painting a perfect picture and fueling the mind with emotions. My one and only critique is that there were a lot of characters.

I liked it when I was reading it for book club, but now I can’t remember any of it

i’ve read a few books by this author now and they have all been really good. tight plotting. good character development. excellent pacing on information reveals (doesn’t save it all till the end, but sprinkled throughout, sometimes hiding in plain sight).

Enz enz.
Toch uitgelezen, Coben kan wel schrijven.

The end was spectacular ! Really unexpected !! I give it 4 stars just because the action took a long time to come. But it was worth it !

4/5 - my first Harlan Coben book and certainly not my last. Knew the twist since chapter 5, but it paid off beautifully.

On the edge of my seat!

The plot is great.

But, it's 20 years old and it hasn't aged well. The technology makes me laugh. There's even a rotary phone.

However, what is really cringe worthy is the racism and sexism in the book. The author tries to cover it up at one point by explaining that it's impossible not to notice and judge someone by their skin color. Saying that almost makes it worse. And the author does point out race, gender, economic status, weight, sexuality for so many of the characters that their story almost takes second behind their description. I try not to be one of those people who notice such things and let it interrupt my reading, but this was pretty bad.
