distracting
from

was
actually
happening.

it felt as though the author wrote straight from a thesaurus. Also, the violence in this book seemed to go on and continue with no end. It felt as though I just continued to read to see what would happen next, but what would happen next was always worse than what had happened before. I was also thrown off by the

the
storyline
of
turtle needing to improve her vocabulary. The vocabulary that she was learning in school and the vocabulary used to write this book seemed to have been supposed to be intertwined, but I couldn’t figure out a good reason to happen. This book felt like trauma porn. I also readingin the middle of the book was because I kept reading reviews and nothing was ever mentioned about a positive outcome.
