Firstly, thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC copy of this book in return for a voluntary review.

I really want to be cautious with what I say in this review as I do not want to give any spoilers away, but I will say that i really enjoyed this book. If you like enemies to lovers, polar opposite, witty books then this one is for you. Lots of banter, interesting twists and family drama, and the first half of the book had me gripped. I definitely went through a rollercoaster of emotions when it came to my thoughts on the MC's.
Although fast paced, it didn't take anything from the story- definitely recommend the book/add to your TBR piles now!

Enemies to lovers is just ready for some humor and one of my favorites.  While this one is predictable, and I realize all rom coms are, I enjoyed it.  This is one of my favorite tropes and it didn’t disappoint in this one.  At times the pranks seemed a little mean and a little much, but I loved the NYC references and the Jewish heritage.

The summary for the book seemed promising and at times I enjoyed the story. However, both main characters didn’t have a ton of redeemable qualities and the pranking war was just a bit cringy as they are 27/28 at the time in the book.

I’d have liked to see more groveling/pining from both of them, a dual POV, less immature pranking, actual time in the relationship, and better conflict resolution! It was hard to get through the last quarter of the book, I just wanted to go in there and yell at the MCs. The conflict and resolution was awkward to sit through.

I was super excited to receive this book as an eARC on NetGalley. The synopsis made it sound right up my alley so I jumped at the chance to give it a read. Unfortunately, I can’t say I enjoyed this one too much.

Molly and Jude have been enemies ever since they were children. Their parents are best friends and they started out as inseparable, but they had a falling out as young kids and their relationship evolved into one big prank war. Now they’re 27 and have been tasked with finding a location for a joint anniversary party for both sets of parents. A reluctant friendship forms after they call a truce and their feelings evolve from there, but can they really leave all their animosity towards each other in the past?

Someone Just Like You started off on a pretty immature note with all the pranking. And I didn’t think that the characters really grew all that much in that regard throughout the book (even once the pranks stopped). I enjoyed the family dynamics that played a part in the story and appreciated all the side characters, but I just really didn’t like Molly and Jude as characters on their own or in their relationship together. It all felt very childish and that made it hard to believe they had any real connection. I found myself annoyed with them both throughout the whole book and had a hard time finishing, if I’m being honest.

Overall, not my personal cup of tea. But it might be worth a try if you like :
▫️Enemies to lovers / opposites attract
▫️Serious pranking
▫️Interesting family dynamics

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was cute but the beginning was borderline unbearable due to the pranking. Jude and Molly were so childish, and their siblings were truly no better.

Really I stuck around for Molly’s parents and Esther. I ended up enjoying it more than I initially expected but they were really just so immature for two characters in their late twenties.

This was a fun enemies to lovers romance.

Featuring childhood frenemies who team up and realize their hate was really attraction.

I really liked seeing the Molly and Jude go from pranks to friendship to more. It was fun to see the way they both teased each other and supported each other.

This was a nice and easy read. And it was cozy and sweet. I just enjoyed it all.

Someone Just Like You is a childhood enemies to lovers novel about Molly and Jude. Molly and Jude grew up across the street from each other, their families were best friends. As they spent more time together as kids, they started doing pranks and jokes to each other. They are reunited to plan a co-anniversary party for both sets of parents. What happens next is a series of pranks, and some realizations about the people they have been dating over the years. A reluctant friendship develops, that leads to more and suddenly both are wondering if the other is as horrible as they originally thought.

These two really hated each other. Some of their "pranks" were downright mean. I thought that in their late 20s they would have matured a bit and found them repetitive at times. Once they stopped pranking though I really enjoyed the story. I liked the exploration of Molly's desire to plan and make everything perfect and what that stems from, as well as how two people like Molly and Jude, so much opposites, could possibly work together.

I did appreciate the Jewish representation, as this is not something that is often shown in books. I also liked the two sibling sets and how they related to each other. I also liked both Molly and Jude (aside form the pranking). They are both struggling with wanting more with their lives, but also being weary of what that more is. It was interesting to see where Molly's need to compulsively plan came from and I thought it was a great way to explain it.

Overall, this was a fantastic archenemies to lovers story with great family dynamics and self discovery. Thank you to NetGalley and Forever publishing for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% mine.

Childhood neighbours & total opposites, Molly and Jude were friends once - and one day in first grade became rivals. They were constantly fighting, pranking, and competing with one another.

As adults they’re forced together by their siblings to help with planning a surprise anniversary party for both sets of parents. Their rivalry isn’t over, until they eventually decide to call a truce to actually get things done for their families. They start to form a friendship, and unwillingly start to fall for one another.
