George just has such a way with words I just -

George and Charlotte my second favourite bridgerton couple. First is Brimsley and Reynolds, who deserve better and I need Reynolds to come back.

Had I read this before the show probably would have been a good four star read. But I watched the show first. Then the author is telling us how much insight into the characters heads we would get from the book. So I bought the book. We got very little insight. Most of the dialogue is word for word from the show. Waste of 15$ in Amazon credits.

yeah this is the best bridgerton era love story, change my mind!

It was a great read, but still cannot make up to magic of the show for me. I think Julia Quinn did an excellent job of bringing the story to the pages, but I felt I was missing a little perspective from Charlotte and George about society and possibly their lives before they met and how it affected their current actions. I also wish she told us more about the future with other characters as well with the flashforward in the future.

I loved the show and I loved the book. It’s so sweet and sad.

Very true to the series but with less of a focus on the modern storylines (i.e. no Lady Bridgerton or her father). I think I enjoyed getting into the inner monologues of Brimsley and Agatha the most.

Listened to the audiobook and it was lovely.

The book was just as good as the show, which was to be expected as Julia Quinn not only is a great writer, but also wrote the book off of the show's scripts. It was great to get the multiple perspectives which mirrors the show's structure just obviously on a deeper level. Also super interesting was the additional little scenes added, as well as some scenes/a very specific plot lines that were left out. I just wonder if that was up to Julia and Shonda's discretion as far as the length and direction of the book (which I think makes the most sense) or if it also had to do with potential script rewrites. But yeah, quick and lovely read as always with her books <3
