This is definitely the best of the mortal instruments so far!!
I loved seeing the shadow hunters world/the city of glass, it really added more depth the the world building and made it more engaging for me.
I also feel like there was some character development in this book that was much appreciated because I was getting very frustrated with everyone in the last book, I wasn’t even sure i liked any of them that much with the way they were acting, but now I can say that I do.
The ending was great, so satisfying to finally have some kind of resolve and break in the repetitive plot pattern of valentines villainy. Although I did predict a lot and found it incredibly hard to believe none of the characters could’ve pierced together that Sebastian was the real Jonathan who had demon blood and took down the wards from the inside—it was sooooo obvious. If Cassandra Clare was intending for that to be some kind of big reveal, massive fail on her part because she gave away too many clues and hints that it was just GLARING. But I didn’t mind that too much, I very much like being right
