I absolutely loved this audiobook! Holly reads it herself and she kind of puts on a voice for some of the main characters which makes it such easy reading! It’s fascinating how much detail she includes and hearing exactly what the mansion was like behind closed doors was shocking. I never expected to read the girls were being emotional abused, manipulated and that there would be school yard bullying! A worthwhile listen. Definitely checking out her other book!
Eh! There were some good parts but overall there seemed to be a lot of repetition. It was an interesting overview but there was too much whining in retelling her story.

This was a very sweet and interesting read, especially as a fan of the "Girls Next Door" and "Holly's World" series. (I even saw Peep Show in Vegas when Holly was performing and am even MORE thankful now that I did!)
I will say that the things in this book have me see all of her previous shows in a new light and I appreciate her, as well as her perspective, SO MUCH more now. This was a guilty pleasure read for me, and I absolutely LOVED every minute.

I had my reservations when I picked up this book at my local Target. It was 10% off and I was running low on books to read, so I figured, "Why not?" I didn't know much about Holly Madison before I started reading. I don't keep up with Playboy at all. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the writing flows very well. The thoughts were clear and concise, although they were also extremely shallow. The book seems to be made up mostly of her disappointments and mistakes in life. I'm happy she learned from them, but the way she describes them, makes it seem like she doesn't quite accept responsibility for the fact that she put herself into these situations. I don't think she's a "whore" for living with Hef, but I don't think she can excuse it just because she "didn't have anywhere else to go." What was wrong with Oregon? What was wrong with Alaska? Was living with her parents really worse than living with Hef? Throughout this book, the word "organic," parenthesis, and exclamation marks were drastically overused. I felt like I was reading a book that could have been written by an overzealous teenager. The amount of bad-mouthing others outweighed the amount of compliments and happy moments. She should have spent way more time talking about Pasquale. Doesn't she love him? Why spend more time talking about Criss, someone she supposedly didn't love as much? Maybe I'm over thinking it. I don't usually read autobiographies or memoirs.

I am not ashamed to admit I did enjoy this book. I had never watched GND but knew the premise and imagined the girls living the good life which wasn't always the case in the mansion. I did get tired of Holly playing the victim card in some parts...I feel like she wasn't as innocent as she claims especially when it came to incidents with the other girls in the mansion.
I hated Hugh while reading this. I believe her 100% that he talks to the girls like dogs and tries to pit the girls against each other. I really hope his will is air tight because I have a feeling his current wife will try to get his kids portions too.
I enjoyed reading about the "beef" between Holly and Kendra. I think there is more to the story but yeah I can see Kendra being that petty.
Reading this had me watching GND. I never watched it while it was airing so it was fun to see what she was talking about in the book. I watched the episodes where the girls visited Holly in Vegas and when they had the baby shower for Kendra and yes those did have some uncomfortable scenes.
I like that she wanted more for herself and didn't want to just be known as one of Hugh's ex girlfriends or the Playboy girl. I'm glad she found her happily ever. I'm glad she was "delivert" from the Playboy mansion life.
