Holly Madison
I read this book because I started listening to the Girls Next Level podcast.
When the show first came out I loved the show and everyone in it. I didn’t aspire to marry a man in his 80s or pose nude (no judgment if that’s what anyone who reads this would like to do) but I was intrigued.
The book is from Holly Madison’s POV and gives insight on what it was like living in the mansion before GND and life after. The ☕️ is served in this book. If you’re a fan of the show or podcast and don’t hate HM I’d recommend this book.

I really enjoyed hearing Holly’s backstory and her stories from her time at the Playboy Mansion. I loved The Girls Next Door when it was on tv and was always curious about the true story of how things happened around there. I loved hearing Holly narrate this herself and the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because I felt it was a little drawn out and long.
It is what it is. The story is entertaining and while I did not like or identify with the narrator, the book flowed well and I finished it in 2 days.
Not what I was hoping for. I liked Holly on GND and I was hoping to hear more of her life throughout that period, but not a lot was spent on that. She spends a lot of the book being a victim, although she made all of her own choices. She felt like a prisoner in the mansion but was free to walk out any time. She says that later on in the relationship with Hef; it wasn't about the money. But at the end of the book, she is quick to brag about her 40 carat engagement ring and her Disneyland wedding (they shut down the whole freaking park for a day). Not a lot of growth or introspection. She also laments any association with Playboy and hates it when anyone refers to her as Hef's ex. Well... why did you publish this book then? This just stirred up all the old Playboy crap again. Waste of time.

It was great read. I watched the GND and listen to her podcast. Her story remained the same and her story makes so much sense. It didn’t go really into details but it was great.
I saw Holly clipped on TikTok and that inspired a week long Playboy bunny obsession. Went through SHIT i mean i know society just assumed shit about Hugh Hefner and playboy bunnies in general but she spills stuff that other former bunnies try to cover up to feign modesty. Cool girl.

She did a great job telling her story. She was very upfront and truthful.
Ridiculously cheesy, and the author is terribly fond of herself but I couldn't put this book down. Definitely a must-read for anyone who watched The Girls Next Door.

I read this book when it first came out (I was like 8 years old watching GND what do you expect) and have read it probably a handful of times, but have never listened to it, so with Spotify adding an audiobook section so I decided to listen this time.
I loved hearing Holly's voice tell her own story since a big part of it is Holly finding her voice in so many different ways. I still follow Holly's life now and listen to her podcast Girls Next Level with Bridget Marquardt and love to hear them talk about their time at the mansion and flesh out more of the stories I heard in her book.
Crying score: of course
