This book reads like an undergrad student's notes for a Psychology 101 or History of Psychology class. Barely even scratches the surface of psychology. I was expecting witty illustrations - left disappointed on that front too. I'd recommend this to someone who knows absolutely nothing about psychology; for anyone else who has even a little knowledge of psychology, I'd recommend them to give this a miss and stick to reading wikipedia articles.

This certainly does what it says on the tin. It's not a subject I've ever studied before, so this was a great introduction, and covered (well, as far as I am aware) all the key points, including a look through the historical development of the subject. I feel that I would need to read it a couple of times to get all the terms and concepts straight in my head. But this feels like a great starting point for the subject, and I do love the layout of these books.
slow-paced

I've always been interested in psychology but don't know where to start. The layout makes it so easy for a noob like me to get started. This book will make it easier for you to pinpoint where to start exploring.

I thought this was a fun introductory guide to psychology in general. I imagine it won't be too much help for anyone specifically interested in any of the individual schools within psychology but for beginners and those generally interested in the science of it, its a good read. I quite liked the images (photos and drawings) and the sometimes quite silly captions. Its a book that mentions many historical figures of importance. A good book as a general coffee table reference read but no more I suppose, this is an easy to read, accessible and interesting read.

informative

I read this for work. The image style is really weird and I do not vibe with it. It's a good refresher of general topics. I feel like some things should have had more depth while others could have been cut as this was an intro book. Felt a bit rambly at times, but I appreciated how it linked schools together.
