the plot on this one was better than the first book , but i love the character on "one of us i lying" more . Knox basically carried this book !! cuz without him i probably would've dnf it

the og4 was featured in this book too . i love that I could read about  them more after the Simon incident . Nate and Bronwyn !!

I personally found the first book better (although this is also brilliant) because everything seemed to be more connected and hence, the whole story was more fucked up and everything came more unexpectedly. Apart from that, the first book discusses serious issues like
outing Someone without them being ready or homosexuality in sports or class differences or how rich people have advantages in the justice system because of their wealth
. However, there are also important issues discussed in this novel and Karen McManus has written a grabbing and thrilling story.

I absolutely tore through this book, and as much as I loved the main characters, I didn't like the mystery, or, to be fair, several mysteries that happened to be connected.

There was the Truth or Dare game,
the Intense Guy, the threats for Eli, and then the personal problems (Knox's family life and love life, Maeve's leukemia possibly returning, Phoebe's dad's death).
When you add in the other people at school, the cameos of the Bayside Four, and all the other side characters, it was quite overwhelming.

I feel like the answer to the mysteries was a bit convoluted and trite. The fact that the ending was a bit vague and cut off makes it even worse; there are no answers about what happens next, what happens to their lives, which for me was a big plus in the first book.

Overall, worth reading for the amazing characters and world, but not for the actual mystery.

This was amazing. I loved all of the characters bar Brandon ( Phoebe and Knox in particular) and the romances in this book were really cute without taking away too much from the main story. The atmosphere was really believable and I loved it. The only issue I have was as much as I love the ending, the last paragraph did sort of come out of nowhere, however I’ll let it slide cos it was still clever.
