Struggled reading the first section because I do not care about art history. Plus, the descriptions of COVID patients juxtaposed with the island life frustrated me because it seemed so heartless.

The twist of it being all a vivid dream genuinely shocked me but made the book much more exciting. Really enjoyed reading about Diana’s recovery and her relationship with her mom.

In the end, Diana seemed like a selfish partner who never seemed to think about her partners feelings/mental health. Was happy they parted ways at the end so he wouldn’t be stuck with her…lol

While a little different from most Picoult books, still a fantastic read. This book was done very very well. I felt very invested in the journeys the main character takes. I am very immunocompromised so I stayed up to date on all things Covid as they were happening, but I did learn a lot reading this book... Mainly about The Galápagos. I was completely ignorant to this part of the world. The scenery and experiences on Isabel were written very well. I really enjoy Jodis books.

Was genuinely not impressed with this book. I like Jodi Picoult and have loved her other books but this was an absolute miss for me. I’m confused by all the positive reviews on this. The only reason it isn’t a one is because she does a great job with research and making her books knowledgeable.

The twist in this book laid my flat on my back. I read it over my lunch break and exclaimed to my colleague “YOU WILL NEVER BELIEVE WHAT THIS BOOK JUST DID.” I love Jodi Picoult’s writing style and many of my favorite books are hers - and I really appreciate her memorializing such a specific time in our lives memories. I definitely recommend this book! But trigger warning: it is about the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown.

This book resonates with me. Life does not need plans, it just needs to be lived.
