Totally wishing to avoid spoilers in this review will just say that the reminders of the terrors of 2020 were well written. However in the end this book did not fully land with me. But I am pleased I read it.

This book was well written, with a plot twist I wasn't expecting. There was good/accurate representation of how it felt working in a hospital at the beginning of COVID. I think it was a good way to memorialize that time, but maybe it was too soon for me to be revisiting that time.

Good author. Bad book. A really unlikeable protagonist with a plot line that starts to suck halfway through. And it ends on a cliff hanger that feels like it was written by one of my students...
