This series is so dark and F***ed up and I like that, it has one of the most toxic relationships I’ve ever seen .

Sometimes I get confused about what’s going on and this one was very repetitive, but that cliffhanger though!!!

Please make yourself aware of the reasons this author is problematic. I will no longer be reading, sharing, or promoting any of their books.

I was recommended All He'll Ever Be, and I started reading it before realizing it was actually 4 separate books of the Merciless series. And so I want to review it as four separate pieces.

Heartless was an even better cliffhanger than Merciless! This one picks up right where the first one ended. And you really see just how badly Aria needs to be helped, and how badly Carter needs to be the one to do it. How desperately he needs her to need him. Crave him. There was a little bit more of a comparison to Beauty and the Beast with this one. (And I laughed when it was mentioned in the book itself.) Heartless is not only spicier, but the spice was wonderful treats. They sweetened the roughness. We get more of Aria with Jase, Declan, and Daniel like I had hoped! Plus, we finally get properly introduced to Addison. You get to see walls crumble. Emotions explode. It almost feels like a slow burn. We're just waiting for Aria and Carter to get their crap together. And waiting. And waiting. But I'm rooting for them!

My Favorite Quotes:
•"He’ll never have power over you again. The only thing you have to fear, is me."
•"Kneel and then ask me if things have changed."
•"The very idea that you’re mine makes me feel as if there isn’t a thing I can’t conquer. But actually having you is… everything."
•"You're not lost. You belong here, with me."
•"I need you to want me still when this is over."
•'I turn my back on her, feeling lonelier than I've felt since she came into this house.'
•"Tell me you don't want me, that you're really done with me and I'll stop."
•"In the bedroom, I want you to obey. Anywhere else, I want you as mine."
•"If I gave you that, what would I have left?" "You'd have me."

9/10 Dirty Birdy
9/10 Mafia Romance
8/10 Series

This starts right where the first one ended, so there's not much to say except Willow Winters loves to end on a dramatic note and a very enticing cliffhanger. She ended this book on a cliffhanger as well! The book really gets interesting after the 75% mark. I had a really hard time trying to get into the story because the characters were being idiots miscommunicating and not expressing themselves, mainly Carter. Aria still has her demons and her difficulties saying what she means, except when she's on Carter's lap and receiving some well earned punishments... I however was disappointed somehow by the lack of plot in this book; not that there was much plot in the first book either. And I hated the ending to this one.

This series just keeps you hooked in. Aria shows just what a badass she really is… and Carter is still as hardcore as in book #1. The characters are well developed and the writing is so good it just keeps drawing you down the rabbit hole.

If I was wearing boots I'd be shaking in them.

This book delivered the heat and suspense. So much so that I literally just stared at the last sentence for a good five minutes after I finished trying to figure out how to process the cliffhanger. Sure, I have the second book, but this book was just a beautiful whirlwind! A good cliffhanger leaves you in limbo even if you can keep reading right away.

Aria finds herself falling deeper and deeper into Carter's arms, an oh so strong trap that she knows she will never be able to escape from once she truly falls. Yet here she is, torn between her family and the dangerous man she can't get enough of. This book sees the escalation of the war, and it is intense.

This book flowed better than Merciless in my opinion, and I was done before I could even process what was happening to my heart. I guess I am just a sucker for the villain after all.
