this one was emotional :')

That scene where he gets permission to fill his heart is one of my favourites in both manga and anime of all time. Gives Fruits Basket, gentle care vibes and I weep for it.

'But there are some feelings you can't reason against.'

There are several of my fav' scenes in this volume and I feel things start picking up in this as well.

I’m still really enjoying this series and absolutely LOVE the artwork - Kou and Futaba’s expressions are perfect! But I’m getting a bit tired of Yuri and Futaba competing for Kou’s attention.

However, I was VERY happy that Kou turned Yuri down...mwahahahaha... that girl is starting to get really annoying! She’s like a gnat that you can’t help but swat!

I hope in volume 5 Kou and Futaba get together - I ship them so much! <3

~4 Stars

The group continues trying to study together, as exams are coming up. In the first half of this volume, we discover some of Kou's hidden past. As Futaba confronts him about it, it also forces him to deal with some of his feelings regarding it and attempt to move forward with his family now. There are several sweet scenes with him, with Futaba and with his brother. His brother really is a sweetheart, though we also got to see a potential new side to him later that interests me.
After exams, it's summer vacation, and the group makes plans to meet up at a festival. It's nice to see them all growing closer and deciding to meet up; it's a big moment for a few of them in particular. We meet a potentially new character in this volume, and there's a confession of sorts. Lots of exciting moments.
I love the sweet and touching moments in this series, and the humor is done just as well and easy.

A review copy was provided by the publisher, VIZ Media, for an honest review. Thank you so, so much!

Giving this a three star rather than a four star now that I have reread this.

Kou received a bit more backstory in terms of dealing with his mother’s sickness and death. I felt bad for Kou and I was able to understand him a bit better now. Futaba/Kou shared some sweet moments that I really enjoyed but it’s still taking me a while to warm up to them as a possible couple. I just wish more development is focused on Futaba. I feel like Futaba has potential as the main Female MC but they are wasting it in favor of her running after Kou.

I’m also not a big fan of Shuko’s crush on Kou’s older brother Tanaka (he’s a teacher, she’s a student gross). For the most part, I am happy that this love triangle is coming to a close and I can’t wait to see my girl Yuri find someone who adores and cherishes her.

so much happened, i cannot function! There's a new guy in the picture,, I think? Tanaka-sensei is playing with fire and my heart. He and Kou-kun were able to have dinner together since their mom. Kou-kun cried with Futaba. Yuuri confessed! ahhh even though so much is happening i feel like i can't stop reading!! I need to know more!! omggg this was really good and i especially like how Yuuri processed her feelings even though it sucked that her feelings were not reciprocated; i hope she finds somebody or is happy with herself later on yknow?
