Interesting, novel within a novel. But the end....yikes. No spoilers here except to say, I do not like it. I was too invested for it to end that way. I like to read other reviews once I am done and I see that I am not alone in this feeling.
Let me start this review off by telling you I don't really read mysteries. I read this because my mom (a librarian) saw this book and thought I might like it.
She was right. This book was stunning. There is no way to explain the joy and excitement this book gave me.
It was sweet and funny, but also chilling and anxiety inducing at times.
The characters were great and so well written. This is one of those books where you can feel yourself falling in love with the love interest as the character is falling for them.
I must say, I never thought Cain was the killer, honestly, I was afraid it was Marigold. The fact that it was Whit was completely out of left field! I never would have guessed it was him!
This was such a good book and I highly recommend it on anyone and everyone!!!

I enjoyed the way this book told two stories, one being the book within the book and the other unfolding through the letters. Creepy while still being a fun read. It was easy to feel like I knew the characters and could hear voices through the dialogue, even though I found myself annoyed with most of them throughout. The writing style and format were unique and a fun way to push the story lines along. There was a good balance of twists and predictably, though I would have liked to see more of the loose ends tied up. The ending felt a bit rushed and left me with unanswered questions.

I really liked the book and the ending was good but the way they unraveled the mystery was a bit of a let down

I’m not sure I understood this book, but towards the end I figured it out , sort of. Had I been reading the hardcopy, I might’ve Not finished it, but the narrator was amazing in this audiobook. This is a book that will hunt you long after you finished it.
DNF at 13%. The premise was so intriguing, but there are these weird (daily?) letters interspersed that are from the narrator’s friend critiquing the narrator’s writing of this mystery and it’s killing the story for me.
The narrator just let 3 complete strangers she met 3 days ago crash at her place for the night because it was too late to go home. In Boston. Give me a break. That’s not a thing that a normal person does and I’m not going to be able to get over this.
