This was a refreshing and absolutely perfect read!!
Every once in a while you come across a book that is perfect for you from beginning to end. There was no direction this book went that I wasn’t strapped in for the ride and totally enjoying every single minute (even the painful ones). The writing was great, the chemistry on point, and the banter was both funny and believable. I am always on board for realistic banter in my romances.
This is all about Tali and her adventures as the temporary assistant to one of LA’s most prominent plastic surgeons. Tali is the middle child in a family of three girls. She is the one who takes care of everyone all the time. So why shouldn’t she be great at assisting Hayes Flynn? The only problem, he is the villain in her story. This guy is a womanizer… a serial one-night-stand-er… and he is obviously so clearly full of himself… Or so Tali thinks. She is quick to find out that the more she gets to know him, the more she sees that her earliest assumptions of him may be wrong…
Both of them have painful heartbreak in their pasts and it has caused them to harden their hearts against love. Maybe they are the answer to soften each other around the edges and mend those painful experiences.
With so much snark and humor between the petite American Tali and the larger than life British Hayes, they are either a recipe for disaster or a recipe for love. And I loved every single second of their story.

I was expecting tons of steam and little plot, based off Bookstagram reviews and I was oddly surprised. The plot was much better than I was anticipating and the steam was good, but it was definitely a slow burn. I'm looking forward to reading the next ones in this series.

He's her boss

Wit meets underlying reals
There wasn't a lot to sell the MMC in this book other than his constant seeming shenanigans with women, workaholic-ing and break neck speed at life. Tali found herself a temporary assistant to Hayes the aesthetic doctor to the stars. These two had all the disrespect for one another with lots of snarky banter that became endearment.
There was a solid plot underlying these characters lives. Each with some backstory and Tali in particular with some current issues in terms of exes, family dysfunction and grief. As a bystander, I could see Hayes falling when Tali just couldn't see it.
I went from feeling a bit of revulsion at Hayes, to being on his side. Tali was strong on the outside and softest of soft on the inside. An authentic connection built between these two and I was here for it. The on-page heat worked for these two.
I'm pretty pumped to have found an new contemporary romance series to get my teeth into. I can't wait to read more in this series. Side note, if you're a fan of TL Swan, I'd say look no further for that similar vibe in terms of wit meets underlying reals.

Absolutely loved it! But her mother and sister annoyed the fuck out of me.
