The friendship in here is so delightful, and I laughed out loud more than once! Quite superficial and fun, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

Two twelve year old girls begin corresponding because their dads are dating, and will be sending the girls to the same summer camp to get to know each other. This was entertaining, and funny, with a great cast of characters. Although at times both girls felt younger than they were supposed to be.

Avery Bloom and Bett Devlin, have few things in common. They're both twelve years old and are both being raised by single day dads there's no reason for these two girls to know each other. But when their dads fall in love, and decide to send them to the same camp they are forced into the same circle. They start communicating trying to figure out what's going on with their dads, but somewhere along the way they become friends. Told in emails and letters this book is a charming exploration of family and friends.

This book was wonderful. The way its written as letters/emails was just wonderful and fun. I loved both girls so much and the rest of their wild family. This is a great recommendation for a reader who loves realistic fiction, or just enjoys a heart warming story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. I really loved this audiobook. Avery and Bett live on opposite sides of the country; however, their fathers met at a conference and fell in love. Now, they have signed the girls up for a summer camp in Michigan so they can “get to know each other” while the dads are on a motorcycle trip to China. As the summer begins, nobody could have predicted the outcome...

Highly recommended for all middle school readers.

Age: 4th-7th grade

Two wildly different girls find themselves pushed into a friendship by their dating dads as they attend summer camp together. Sloan manages to successfully write this entire book via email without the style getting monotonous or confusing. Nothing astounding but a fun summer read, nonetheless.
