This was my favorite book in elementary school/early middle school and I haven’t picked it up since then. I forgot how heavy handed the religious aspects were, and that it’s written by a 14 year old. Not a bad book per se given those two qualities, just not my cup of tea anymore 20 years later.

I feel bad for giving this a pretty low rating. Don’t get me wrong, I cried twice while reading this book. It was off to a slow start, which is how every book is. It picked up a lot; I almost gave this a 3.5 to 4 ⭐️ rating, but then the ending happened. Lol. For the life of me, I didn’t care about the background information of almost every actor in the movie. I am sorry. Why would I care about that? I didn’t sign up to read anything about them. I also didn’t need to read an interview about each actor being questioned on things I didn’t care about. This book was very moving for me, but I am disappointed. I guess I assume this story would be told in a different way. It wasn’t
