Good for fans of the Hunger Games trilogy. The only thing that bothered me was the bizarre made-up swear words (!) Overall, a very satisfying read.
4.5 stars. As my second time reading this book a year apart. I enjoyed the book way more than I did the first time around. I forgot that the book is so much more different than the movie but I love both the movie and the book. I decided to annonate this book which I also enjoyed. My favorite character from this book is probably Minho and Newt. Would recommend and will love to re-read again in the future.
This book started on unimpressive terms with me, but it found its footing further on and I’m pretty intrigued by the setting at this point. The Glade vocabulary feels a little cringed at certain points, but other than I don’t have any real issues. The maze itself feels like an intriguing character and I’m sad to see it go so fast. There’s a lot of questions bouncing around my mind, so I’ll just keep reading the series and see what happens.
if i suddenly woke up in a village surrounded by huge walls and realized im the only girl out of 50 people i would actually kill myself

I never read this book when I was younger but remember it being popular. At first, I was surprised by some of the language and gory content that middle schoolers were the targeted audience. As I continued reading the book, the fantasy element took over and the reading population made more sense. It took me a while to get into the book, but it was interesting and left on a cliff hanger. Though I am curious, I likely will not read the sequel.
