Ahhh I love these! They're creepy, fun, and perfect for Halloween. And that ending! I can't wait to see what happens next.

3 Stars!
This is a pretty solid sequel to City of Ghosts, and whilst I felt that it didn’t quite live up to expectations, it was good fun and I definitely don’t regret picking it up!
I think my main problem with this series so far is that a lot of the characters are a little bit flat. Cassidy and Jacob are painted rather well, as you’d expect for the main characters, but I felt that I didn’t really care about any of the other characters. Cassidy’s parents, Pauline, and even Lara just felt like they were there more as plot devices rather than actual characters in this world. This was a problem that I encountered in the first book, but sadly I found it to be a little bit worse in this book.
Having said that, I much preferred the plot of this book to the last one. The ghost in question in Tunnel of Bones was really interesting and I really liked that it’s menacing activities took different forms throughout the book. It made for fast plot progression and kept me on my toes throughout.
We also get a good amount of set up for book three in this instalment, which is seriously foreboding and makes me sad just to think about it. There were definitely a couple of tears moments here, so be prepared!
Overall: A fun but slightly flat sequel including a nice set-up for the finale.

Meh.
I don't like ghosts, or kids.
But this book was fine, I guess.
