I wanted to loved this but after the first sex scene, it felt like reading a wattpad story again. All sex, no character development, and too long by the end of it.

I CANT BELIEVE SHAWN IS ONLY A FICTIONAL CHARACTER!!!! he’s so unreal, he’s so perfect and such a softie!!!! fmc is a doctor? trust that i will read that shit!!!

run dont walk to read this absolutely adorable book

Let me be clear. I am giving this book a 4-star rating because of the spice. It's good without being super explicit...a solid 4-chili pepper.

The story itself was fine. We follow Shawn Holmes, you are almost too perfect to be a true hero. Good-looking, down-to-earth, humble, and successful NFL coach. He has some mental health topics with anxiety attacks but he is very aware of his situation and is open to the conversation with his close circle of people.
He met Lacey through his friend Aiden's new relationship. Lacey and Shawn have now known each other for just under 2 years and have become fast and close friends. There are circumstances that lead them to fake dates, and it is the perfect excuse for them to take their platonic friendship and give each other the opportunity to see each other in a different light.

I listened to this book in audio form and the narration was done by Kelsey Navarro Foster, Robert Hatchet. Overall, their performance was good. Some parts dragged on but I don't think it was like that because of the performance, more like the writing. I thought it could have been edited down just a bit.

If you are going to get the audio version of this book, fair warning. I saw that the audio version was 18+ hours long. As I was listening to it, there were parts of the story that felt repetitive, telling us things that the characters had already said a few times throughout the book. What a way to drive home a certain point. I was nearing what I thought would be a natural end to the story, but I saw that there were still 6ish hours left of the audiobook. Just to let you know, no, the book is not, in fact, 18 hours long. After the epilogue and end credits, there is an audio version of [b:Camera Chemistry|83823487|Camera Chemistry (Love Through a Lens, #1)|Chelsea Curto|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1674468823l/83823487._SY75_.jpg|108379979]. I had already read the book version of this novella as it is a prequel to [b:Caught on Camera|199278295|Caught on Camera (Love Through a Lens, #2)|Chelsea Curto|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1696420493l/199278295._SY75_.jpg|203379494]. Do yourself a favor. If you are going to only consume this book in audio form, first listen to the post-credit novella (which is the last 6 hours or so) and then start with chapter 1 of [b:Caught on Camera|199278295|Caught on Camera (Love Through a Lens, #2)|Chelsea Curto|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1696420493l/199278295._SY75_.jpg|203379494]. You meet Shawn and Lacey in the novella, as well as Maggie, Aiden, and Maven, who are key characters in the series. I'm glad I had read the book/novella first or I would have been very lost while reading this book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This has been a rollercoaster of emotions and I cannot for the life of me explain how much I actually loved this book! An amazing friends to lovers and fake romance book! 10/10 recommend!
