DID NOT FINISH: 81%

I liked the beginning but I just couldn’t make myself finish it, I like Shawn and Lacey together but I simply didn’t enjoy it enough to finish it. I might go back someday and complete it but it simply wasn’t memorable enough. While I enjoyed it in the moment the second I put it down I just couldn’t get back into it. It was not a bad book it just reminded me of a wattpad story in the way that it’s good when you don’t think about it.

It was good. The progression of the relationship was in a good timeline and I was rooting for them the whole time

Wow this book is spicy!!! Good but very very spicy, so just keep that in mind!

It was nice but the plot started dragging and I felt like the book could’ve been shorter. A lot of the chapters towards the end were basically all the same and I didn’t feel like it added anything to the plot.

I absolutely loved this wow

What on earth… did I just waste my time on??? There was no conflict, no obstacle to overcome, no literally anything that built tension or ANYTHING. The characters were so non-people and so disgustingly “I’m a perfect character but I’m going to act like I’m average.” The dialogue and inner monologues were the same things over and over again. A lot of the little things made no sense (like tell me how he’s 46, been coaching in the league for 4 years, and yet was the youngest head coach in the NFL ever… at 42??? Ya I think not, that’s pretty much the average age). The only slight redemption was the spice was good, but even that got boring and I ended up skimming.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

When Lacey’s date to an NFL game refuses to kiss her on the kiss cam, her best friend (and the coach of the team she came to watch) Shawn comes to her rescue. When the video of it goes viral in just a few hours, the two have to hatch a fake dating scheme to get them through the holidays. As the holidays get closer, so do Shawn and Lacey. With New Year’s approaching, they will both have to reevaluate their relationship and deal with the very real feelings they have both come to have for each other.

This story was absolutely swoon-worthy. I loved the damsel in distress angle, and the kiss cam was a cute way to get the two together. Fake dating is always my favorite trope, and friends to lovers is a close second. Luckily for me, this story has both! This book was well-written and I definitely recommend it!
