I'm really impressed with the atmosphere Khaw created in such a small amount of pages. I would love more from this world and yet am satisfied with what I read, which is a good sign for short stories in my book. Definitely recommended if you like horror short stories!

Started really badly, but then it crept up on you, in the best possible way. It's as though the first half was written by editor Ellen Datlow, the second half by the actual author. This is one of those short stories that do work but I would really love to see expanded into at least a novella. The rather open-ended ending had me squirming to know what happened after.
