So, this was a wild ride! Bastian and Rocklin's love story is off the charts. It's got twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat. Sure, sometimes it was hard to keep track of all the characters, but the forbidden romance and powerful women totally rocked. And that unexpected twist? Mind-blowing! I couldn't put this book down, and now I'm dying for the next one. Meagan Brandy nailed it with this one! Five stars all the way!

I would say more like 3.5-4 stars this time. I am still obsessed with Bass as a character and I still like Rocklin, but listening to this was a bit cringy at times. It was much easier to see all the flaws the book has.. like her asthma makes absolutely zero sense. The way she acts during an “attack” is completely un real, which, let’s be real, this whole entire book is un realistic. There’s no teenagers out here running a whole mob-esque organization. If the ages were older then it would be easier to believe. Idk why MB only writes about teenagers or early 20s, but here we are. Adjusting the age in my head makes this easier to believe. Bass carried the book for me for sure!

This wasn't a bad book, but if I'm being honest, I had no clue what happened there. I was so confused by the end with all the different reveals that I just couldn't keep up. The character's were okay but I was getting really frustrated with them and the way they would act in certain situations and with each other, would just give me weird vibes. Like I said it's not a bad book and you can tell the plot has been well thought out to be able to make all those reveals and connections, but it just wasn't for me.

I've wanted Bass's story even before it was written as he deserved his HEA. This book gave me every emotion and I was ecstatic that he got the perfect person just for him. This story is fast paced, angsty and emotional. Brilliant Bass Bishop ❤️

Well, this was my first Meagan Brandy book, and it will definitely not be the last!
Bastian (Bass) Bishop had a really sh*tty childhood. He got himself out of that situation and did what he had to do to "reinvent" himself, and now four years later, he's no longer the young boy who feared those above him, the ones with "power". He is stealthy and intelligent, always one step ahead.
Rocklin Revenaw has a completely different background from Bastian. She's rich, spoiled, and didn't want for anything. Yet, there is something she never had and that was the power to make her own choices.
When they meet, there is instalust. And whew, Bastian is a dirty talker. He's possessive, obsessive, jealous, and protecive. I mean, once he was set on Rocklin, that was it. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING could stop him. Then we have Rocklin, who was a bada**. I mean, she may have been a socialite, but with her background, she also had to be able to protect herself. She was able to hold her own and didn't let others succeed in knocking her down.
There was so much action and suspense in this book! I didn't know what to expect next, and usually I can predict some events. But this book had me second-guessing everything. I loved it and I can't wait for the next book!

This was such a good story! I loved when all of the pieces finally clicked into place. The twists in the story definitely kept me on the edge of my seat! I loved watching them both grow and find out where they wanted to be.

I really wanted to like this book and although the general plot was interesting and I liked the concept for some reason this book was a chore. I genuinely had to force myself to read it and the last 100 pages were just skimmed. I have no idea I just didn’t click with any of the characters. I wish I would have liked this book tbh but just didn’t.
