Cute story about finding love where you least expect it. I did appreciate the look at gas lighting and emotional abuse.
As a whole, it was a sweet story but it felt a little flat.

I loved Bohemian, and I was excited to read this one, since we only saw a little bit of Gabe and Josie. While I enjoyed this one, I didn’t like it as much as Bohemian. I’m not even sure what it was. Both Gabe and Josie were loveable characters, but I didn’t connect with their love story as much as Cal and Lucia.

One thing this book did better was allowing us to see Josie and Gabe’s relationship evolve outside of sex. I wish we had seen more from their conversations during their time apart, but I think KN did a better job at showing us they had more than just a physical connection.

Instalust + healing from old emotional trauma + discovering that love takes work + long distance + discovering each other’s culture = HIGHLY RELATABLE CONTENT. Loved this. I think my favourite part was having the highly romantic guy being told he was an idiot and that he needs to listen more and him being like yeah you’re right I’m an idiot.

I think I should have read Bohemian first, but I guess it doesn't matter as it doesn't appear that they are numbered and the honestly take place concurrently. This book focuses on Josie, Lucia's makeup artist. She had a bad relationship. Her ex comes across a little flat. He seems awful in all the flashbacks but I guess she missed the red flags. Anywho, she meet hot lumberjack, Gabe (I think that's his name). They plan on having a hot temporary fling but both are happy with their lives (she's visiting from LA). Plus about this book is that I've never read a book that featured a woman in the dominant role. All in all this was enjoyable read, even if I was not completely satisfied with how it was tied up.

Sassy makeup artist meets lumbersexual - pleasant surprise because I didn't expect the role-reversal with her the dom and him the sub.

Sweet low stakes romance where the dilemma doesn't feel contrived at all. Plus a huge kind viking guy on his knees? I'll take it!
