Personally, I feel like there are better novels that talk about mental health and the chaos it can sometimes cause given the right circumstances. However, I do like that not everyone was not put together. Everyone has issues. However, I don’t think this book is my cup of tea.

As someone who has never been depressed, this book clearly illustrates what depression is and how people who have depression live… it’s honestly a sad book with “hopefully” good ending.

what an interesting book. i saw it on tiktok and it felt it was a very interesting plot and different from my other books. i have to admit that i had to put it down a lot because it was depressing. maybe my humor isn’t as dark as i thought. i did find it intriguing, gilda has so much curiosity. i did relate to gilda in some ways and maybe that is why i felt so weird. it has been a rough year for me mentally - struggling with dissociation / derealization and depression. much like gilda deals with, including her intrusive thoughts. which i think was why i struggled, because this book made me spiral in that way. maybe this isnt a good book to read when you are trying to heal and not have instructive thoughts. maybe just not my taste in novels but i did find it interesting. i hope gilda is happy ( she is a fictional character i know) i did find her interesting, and it made me tear up a bit when gilda was ranting about wanting other to be happy and rosemary said “dont you think others want that for you” i love the way her brain works , not the sad parts, but all her questions about life and animals. i think she is a lot of healing to do and i hope she finds peace
