Got to page 123. I intended to push through to the end, but I've already found myself skimming large sections so I can't see the point. There is no plot (this I'm fine with), but also unlikeable, vapid and shallow characters who are utterly uninteresting. I can't see the point in continuing, so I'll cut my losses here.

this was so beautifully written and so introspective and thoughtful, i just loved it. there is absolutely no plot to speak of, but those are the best books, in my opinion. after loving the hours, and really enjoying this, i am excited to read more of cunningham’s works.

I couldn't wait to be done with this book. I considered DNFing so many times, but the optimist in me kept hope alive.  So I slogged through it, and eventually gave in to skimming through much of it. I couldn't find one character to connect with or root for. They were all too unlikable. This one gets barely 1.5 stars from me.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing for allowing me early access to the ARC ebook edition of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
