If there was ever a moment to feel melancholic, this is that moment.
I’m struck with an overbearing sensation of grief over a world that I must finally say goodbye to. While I continue to reread these books every once in awhile, there will never be another first.
Greywaren continued to give me the deep sense of magic that I know and love from both The Raven Cycle and The Dreamer trilogy. It’s not only atmospherically haunting, but possesses one of my favourite themes in books, found family, but a very dysfunctional family where you seriously question if everyone even likes each other or if everyone is simply tolerating each others existence.
Some things came to light in this book that I never could foresee but I’m happy that the Lynch brothers have the answers they need.
If there was ever a scene to describe the relationship between Adam and Ronan, that last scene was it.
Subjectively a five star read, because reading this felt like finally coming home.
Now let’s get down to objectively. Objectively this was a 3 star read because of the plot. I wanted more Adam and Ronan. I know this book was mainly about the brothers Lynch, but even then there were too many moving parts to even focus on the brothers Lynch.
There are other directions that were taken in this book that I wish weren’t, but for the sake of spoilers I’ll leave that out.
