One of the saddest books I've ever read.

Wow, wow, wow. I would recommend this book to everyone. The writing is absolutely beautiful. I fell in love with every character and really cared about them and I feel the Alaskan landscape also became a main character. I'm just sorry I've read it now as I won't get to read it for the first time again.

A novel that was based on an ancient Russian fairy tale. What if you made a snowman, and the snowman became a real child, and you had to take care of it? Well, this is that book, but sweeter.

Elegantly written and beautiful albeit sad story based on the Russian fairy tale. I enjoyed the Magical realism in this story and, although sad and cold, descriptions of the Alaskan frontier. I really liked it.
